Our Team

Founder and Executive Director
Sue Anderson
Sue Anderson is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer who spent her service as a Health Extension Volunteer in a rural community in Togo’s Centrale region. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and has worked in global health and development across low-resource settings in the non profit sector. In Togo, she led health education sessions, supported nutrition programs, and worked closely with local Community Health Workers.

Jessica Sheldon
Jessica Sheldon is a volunteer teacher and director of early literacy at Water and Light International in Salinas Grande, Nicaragua. She has lived and worked for nonprofits in Honduras and Mexico and is passionate about poverty alleviation through education. She has taught in bilingual classrooms in Oregon and holds her Masters of Education in curriculum and instruction. After founding a nature-based preschool and having three children, her current educational interest is early childhood and play-based learning. She hopes to use her passion for education in her current context with her own children and her community in rural Nicaragua.

Board Secretary
Paul Anderson
Paul Anderson is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer with experience in agriculture, community education, and disability support. During his service in Togo as an agriculture volunteer, he worked closely with farmers to promote sustainable practices, supported agricultural education in local schools, and helped strengthen community-led development initiatives. Paul brings experience in cross-cultural engagement, hands-on learning and supporting communities to his work.

Katja Wilhelms
Katja Wilhelms is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV) who served in the Kara region of northern Togo from 2023-2025. As a health sector volunteer, her primary effort was to help improve maternal, newborn, and child health outcomes through education and system strengthening. She is currently studying to become a certified-nurse midwife with the goal of promoting women’s health and global health equity.

Janet Sebastian-Coleman
Janet Sebastian-Coleman served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in a small village in the Kara region of Togo. During service, she promoted home gardening and trained community members on food preservation techniques and nutrition science. She is passionate about food justice and access to education. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in history and continues to volunteer her time to tutor non-native speakers in English.

Marissa Huth
Marissa Huth is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer who served as a Public Health Specialist in a rural community in Togo's Plateaux region and is now a Health Promotion officer serving in Eswatini. During her service she was engaged in initiatives to improve maternal, newborn and child health; reduce malaria; and improve nutrition. She holds a masters in Public Health and is dedicated to improving global health outcomes.
